Mr. Shin, Yeong Chul
Taking Office as the Sixth President of the COMWEL
(Former Deputy Minister of the Employment Policy Office of the MOEL) 

Mr. Shin, Yeong Chul, former Deputy Minister of the Employment Policy Office of the MOEL (Ministry of Employment & Labor), takes office as the sixth president of the COMWEL (Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service) that has provided quality WCI (workers' compensation insurance) & labor welfare services for workers in South Korea. 

 □ According to the MOEL, Mr. Shin, Yeong Chul, former chief of the Employment Policy Office of the MOEL, took office as the sixth president of the COMWEL on the 12th day of July, 2010. They said that he was appointed through a public competition among candidates to run for the presidency in accordance with relevant laws followed by a screening procedure that accompanied the involvement of the Presidency Personnel Recommendation Committee. 

 □ The new president graduated from  Cheongju High School and Sungkyunkwan University (Department of Public Administration), and passed the 24th civil service exam in 1980. He was known to have lots of experiences as a career official; he served as Grade-5 official of Insurance Administration Division with the MOEL, head of General Affairs Division with the ministry, chairman of the National Labor Relations Commission, director general of Occupational Capacity Development Office & head of Employment Policy Office with the same ministry, etc. 

 □ The president's term of office continues for 3 years until it comes to an end on the 11th day of July, 2012 since its beginning on the 12th day of July, 2010.
