Taebaek Workers' Compensation Hospital is the country¡-s first general hospital specializing in industrial diseases with its 72 years of history. It opened as a hospital affiliated with Samchuk Tanjwa Development Corporation in April 1936, and is now contributing the health improvement of not only industrial workers but also the local residents as the only general hospital and public medical organization with 13 medical examination departments and 544 beds in the region.

Taebaek Workers' Compensation Hospital is playing a role as the region¡-s only public medical organization and emergency medical facility taking care of health of the workers and local residents in spite of the economic recession across the country and the limited demand for medical treatment.
