    Submitting a Declaration of WCI/EI Relations(Subscription application for WCI-Deemed-as Single Workplace)

     

    Declaration period

    • General businesses(continued businesses): within 14 days upon the day of the employment
    • Construction businesses: within 14 days upon the day of the groundbreaking
     

    Report for formation of WCI-Deemed-as-Single Workplace(Subscription application)

    “Projects or businesses being deemed as a single workplace subject to mandatory coverage”(WCI-Deemed-as-Single Workplace) means that, if the said projects or businesses are owned by an employer subject to mandatory coverage, they shall be deemed to be operated under a single mandatorily-covered workplace; however, the projects or businesses all fall under the same business category.

    • When employers have the same types of businesses in different locations in the form of the headquarters, branches and local offices, their businesses are recognized as one relation of WCI/EI once the employers hand in the subscription application of WCI-Deemed-as-Single Workplace.
    • Workers in any of the following areas are eligible for WCI-Deemed-as-Single Workplace: construction projects conducted by employers other than housing developers under the Housing Act, building contractors under the Framework Act on the Construction Industry, contractors under the Electric Construction Business Act, information and communication service contractors under the Information and Communications Construction Business Act, fire protection engineering contractors under the Fire-Fighting System Installation Business Act, or cultural property repair contractors under Section 5 of Article 2 of the Act on Cultural Heritage Maintenance, Etc. Regardless of the construction scale, report for formation shall be made after the registration date and within 14 days of the first groundbreaking day of the general contract.
