Medical rehabilitation enables a worker with disability resulting from an injury or disease to develop his/her utmost physical, mental and social capability,
including his/her potential competences, and thereby, recover most of, or live, his/her own normal life without others’ help.
Professional rehabilitation therapies

Beneficiaries: Workers with his/her doctor-in-charge's opinion, for whom a relevant rehabilitation program would help improve his/her clinical conditions
※ Neurological diseases : Brain injury, spinal injury, peripheral nerve injury, genetically or nosological nerve injury

Socio-psychiatric rehabilitation services

- To provide psychiatric rehabilitation programs on a group basis, and thereby secure psychiatric, emotional stability and remove psychological distress -
Coverage
- Workers whose psychiatric status is unstable and who are under medical care to treat their injury or disease attributable to a work-related accident -
Scope
- Personal history investigation, social work counselling, psychiatric group work, Multi-dimensional psychiatric examination, FaPAHO (Find-a-Path-to-Hope) & family reunion programs, rehabilitation sports, leisure activities, special rehabilitation program
Work capacity evaluation

Coverage
- Workers whose medical care is scheduled to come to an end before long and who want to return to work -
Purpose
- To determine a worker’s return to works through measuring and analyzing his/her physical capacity to work
Work capacity build-up program

Coverage
- Workers whose return to work has been found to be inappropriate as a result of evaluating their work capacity and workers who are in need of additional job training upon completion of rehabilitation treatment -
Purpose
- To improve physical functions related to work movements through providing various training & education programs which will be helpful in performing required works, preventing the recurrence of an accident and enhancing self-confidence (e.g. job simulation, safety education, etc.)
Physical therapy

- Workers with disability or suffering from physical pains due to brain injuries (including cerebrovascular diseases), spinal nerve injuries, musculoskeletal diseases, etc. -
Therapies
- Exercise therapy & manual therapy : Bobath therapy, PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), gait training, mattress training
- Thermoelectrical therapy : Exercise therapy using exercise tools & equipments (sling exercise therapy, spinal traction therapy, treadmill, tilt training, etc.)
Occupational therapy

Eligible workers
- Workers suffering from neurological diseases (CVA (cerebrovascular accident), spinal injury, multiple sclerosis, dysphagia, etc.), traumas (amputation, lumbago, hand injury, burn, etc.), cognitive disorders (dementia, etc.), musculoskeletal diseases, etc. -
Therapies
- ADL(Activities of Daily Living), cognitive rehabilitation therapy, dysphagia rehabilitation therapy, occupational therapy (using tools), etc.
Psychiatric rehabilitation therapy

- Workers with reference from any WCI-authorized rehabilitation medicine doctor who are in need of psychiatric assessment & therapy, etc. -

Aquatic rehabilitation therapy

- Workers suffering from brain injuries, cerebral palsies, spinal injuries, chronic pains, fracture, spinal diseases, sports injuries, muscle fiber pains, senile diseases, etc. -
Therapies
- Safe and effective rehabilitation therapies through making the most of advantages unique to water and reducing physical, mental loads caused to one’s bodily organs while traveling or using them on land
- Programs for improving flexibility, balance, strength, endurance, etc.
- Man-to-man therapy, group exercise therapy, aquatic exercise, etc.
Aquatic walking therapy

- Patients who cannot walk properly in a gravity-applied environment due to neurological disorder (stroke, spinal cord injury, etc.), multiple fracture accompanied by peripheral nerve injury, etc. -
Therapies
- As body weight is decreased by buoyancy in water, alleviating impact from walking and ensuring easy movements, walking pattern training is thereby enabled
- The gentle and uniform resistance from water can boost muscular strength and tonicity
- Water temperature higher than that of body builds up joint and muscular flexibility
