March 26, 2012: Entered into a partnership agreement with Soongsil University and NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency) to cooperate on the development of open source S/W-based applicable to WCI (Workers’ Compensation Insurance) scheme practices, and therewith support developing countries that pursue the internalization of the WCI scheme.

May 8, 2012: Held a workshop through the International Cooperation Center to discuss how to improve the efficiency of support systems for facilitating international cooperation on the WCI scheme

June 25 to 27, 2012: Participated in the 7th Executive Committee Meeting of the ILO/Korea Partnership Programme held in Bangkok (Thailand) to discuss joint activities for supporting developing countries in pursuit of the development of their own WCI scheme

August 1, 2012: Was paid a visit to by a delegation from the Taiwan Labor Insurance Supervisory Committee to study the operation of the WCI scheme in the ROK (Republic of Korea)

August 17, 2012: Was paid a visit to by a delegation from the Thailand Office of Labour Protection and Welfare to study major issues on the wage claim guarantee system that has been operated in the ROK

August 29, 2012: Participated in the technical seminar of ISSA (International Social Security Association) held in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) to introduce K-COMWEL’s WCI activities and discuss major issues
on the social security of the Asia-Pacific region

September 25 to 27, 2012: Participated in the ASSA (ASEAN Social Security Association) Board Meeting to present and discuss how to expand the application and cooperative exchanges of social security among member countries

October 25, 2012: Held the AWCF (Asian Workers’ Compensation Forum) General Meeting at Lexington Hotel (Seoul) to sign a joint declaration for the inauguration of the forum and discuss how to expand cooperative exchanges among the social security organizations of the Asia-Pacific region

October 26, 2012: Held the AWCF seminar at Lexington Hotel (Seoul) to share opinions among relevant experts about major WCI issues and challenges faced by countries in the Asia-Pacific and European regions

October 25 to November 2, 2012: Held the ILO-Korea Fellowship Study Program on Employment Injury Insurance (EII) & Employment Insurance (EI) at Lexington Hotel (Seoul) to share the ROK’s BPs (best practices) in the operation of the EII & EI schemes among social security personnel from the Asia-Pacific region

October 31, 2012: Was recognized with a grand prize by ISSA (International Social Security Association) as an organization in the Asia-Pacific region that have provided the best practices in the operation of customized, integrated WCI services for industrially-injured workers

November 20, 2012: Entered into an MOU with UWV (Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringenon) to facilitate cooperative exchanges between the ROK and the Netherlands on the WCI scheme in Amsterdam (the Netherlands)
